Review: Dormie Club

Dormie Club is another strong effort from Coore and Crenshaw and is a course every visitor to Pinehurst should explore as long as it’s still open to the public. While my expectations were perhaps a bit too high after Streamsong Red, I did thoroughly enjoy this par 71 with one of the strongest opening stretches of holes I’ve played.  … More Review: Dormie Club

Review: Tobacco Road Golf Club

Tobacco Road Golf Club is as unique a course as you’ll ever play thanks to a dizzying array of risk-reward blind holes sculpted in the sandhills of North Carolina. While a controversial design, I absolutely loved the course and think it’s completely fair if you purchase a yardage book or do your research beforehand. Offering fantastic value, this is one of the most fun rounds you’ll ever experience and is absolutely a must-play to those visiting Pinehurst. … More Review: Tobacco Road Golf Club

Review: Streamsong Resort (Black)

While Streamsong Black’s name and hype will undoubtedly propel it onto some prestigious lists, the course itself is polarizing. Unlike anything else in the world, the Black Course features some incredible holes, but the overall experience is soured by greens that are too tricked out for my liking. Certainly give the Black a try, but I’d take the Red or Blue Course over this any day. … More Review: Streamsong Resort (Black)

Review: Streamsong Resort (Red)

Streamsong Red gets my vote for the best course at the phenomenal Streamsong Resort. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw’s genius shines throughout with some of the best hole variety and creativity I’ve ever experienced. This is a must-play for any golfer and one of the best public courses in the world, period. If you only have time for one course at Streamsong, this should be your pick. … More Review: Streamsong Resort (Red)

Review: Streamsong Resort (Blue)

The Blue Course is my second favorite course at Streamsong, but would be the best course at the vast majority of golf resorts. This minimalist Tom Doak design is exceedingly fair and displays incredible hole variety, seamlessly intermixing both long and short holes. This is easily one of the best public courses in America and alone worth a trip to the incredible Streamsong Resort. … More Review: Streamsong Resort (Blue)

Review: Bally’s Golf Links at Ferry Point

Ferry Point is a fantastic and very difficult links-style course in the Bronx that is rightfully deserving of its top 100 public spot thanks to impeccable conditioning and breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and Whitestone Bridge. While you’ll pay a premium New York price to play here, tourists should view this course as a closer, albeit slightly inferior, alternative to Bethpage. … More Review: Bally’s Golf Links at Ferry Point
