Review: Harbour Town Golf Links

Although not as revered as when it first opened in 1969, the ever iconic Harbour Town is still easily one of the best public courses in America and best stops on the PGA Tour. Also one of the most significant architectural designs of the 20th century, Harbour Town ushered in a whole new era of golf course design and made Pete Dye a household name. Famous for its small greens, emphasis on ball-shaping, and majestic closing stretch along the Calibogue Sound, this is a must-play for serious golfers. … More Review: Harbour Town Golf Links

Review: The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

In a glorious setting literally on the beach, The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort packs a terrific combination of beauty and difficulty as the winds constantly rip off the Atlantic Ocean. There are no weak holes on the course and a terrific figure-eight routing makes for a wonderful and diverse walk. This is certainly one of Dye’s best and is clearly an elite option for public golfers. A trip to Charleston/Kiawah for any serious golfer is not complete without playing the famed Ocean Course. … More Review: The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

Review: The Straits Course at Whistling Straits

Despite a high pricetag, every golfer should try their hand at this marvelous course. Just don’t expect a good score – the Straits Course is easily the hardest course I’ve ever played. … More Review: The Straits Course at Whistling Straits

Review: The River Course at Blackwolf Run

The River Course at Blackwolf Run is a special test of golf and one that will likely frustrate the average golfer. However, shotmakers will love playing this gem over and over, and many golfers actually prefer it to Whistling Straits. I don’t think I’ve ever played a course that made me think so hard on every shot, and thus I salute Pete Dye for creating a cerebral golfer’s paradise in The River Course. … More Review: The River Course at Blackwolf Run

Review: The Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run

Caddies told us that most golfers on packages completely neglect the Meadow Valleys Course. While it’s true this course lacks the dramatic backdrops of Whistling Straits, Meadow Valleys holds its own and rightfully belongs in the Top 100 public courses. My playing partner and I were extremely impressed and highly recommend this course to anyone going on a golf trip to Wisconsin. … More Review: The Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run
