Patriot Hills features many holes with elevated teeboxed but none seem as severe or beautiful as the 11th hole, a long par 4 that plays much shorter than the scorecard. Strategic bunkers line both sides and the hole then runs back uphill towards a table-top green. There are several holes like this at Patriot Hills and they are a blast to play!
One of the best things about golf instagram is discovering new courses. When I saw Patriot Hills a few years back, I knew I had to play it. I finally was able to this Fall and really enjoyed it.
Wolf Creek has some extremely difficult holes including two par threes on the front 9 that are among the hardest I’ve ever seen. The 8th hole is probably the most difficult on the course as a 248 yard downhill par 3 from the Back Tees. This target green is surrounded by a river short, left, and long with very little room for error. Tall hills surround the creek and make for a truly beautiful hole.
The opening hole at the very difficult Wolf Creek provides one of the best birdie opportunities on the course. As a downhill, medium-length par 5, this gorgeous hole features a generous fairway lined by bunkers and desert. Like most greens at Wolf Creek, this one slopes heavily back-to-front.
The 469 yard 5th hole is the shortest par 5 at Wolf Creek and offers perhaps the most gorgeous teeshot on the course. From an elevated teebox, this teeshot requires a carry of at least 200 yards just to reach a diagonal fairway. From here, the hole runs uphill but long hitters will be able to reach in two.
