Ballymeade CC’s quirky, target golf design made it an unpopular choice in Cape Cod and eventually played a role in its closing. Apparently, the Cape Club is doing great under new ownership; I’d love to give the new course a try someday soon. … More Review: Ballymeade Country Club
Annual host of the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic, TPC of Louisiana is one of the best courses in the state and features a classic Pete Dye design through swampland. It is definitely worth a play if you’re looking to golf in New Orleans. … More Review: TPC of Louisiana
My team and I played this course weekly in the Fall for good reason – it’s affordable, challenging, and usually a fun round. Golfers in New Orleans should keep this course in their rotation, but I cannot recommend playing the Harvey 9. … More Review: Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans
In case you are in the Lafayette area, this course is a worthwhile play for the price and challenge. Conditioning isn’t top-notch, but it’s playable. … More Review: Squirrel Run Golf Club
Oak Harbor provides great value and one of the stronger designs in the Greater New Orleans area. I highly recommend this course to any tourists looking for an “underrated gem” that won’t break the bank. … More Review: Oak Harbor Golf Club
I recommend the range here, but cannot recommend the course. Even when the course isn’t underwater, the design isn’t good enough to warrant playing. It’s a good course to learn how to play golf, but I recommend Bartholomew for more experienced players. … More Review: The North Course at City Park
If you’re looking for a fun round in New Orleans with great value, I would recommend Bartholomew over Audubon Park and TPC. If the greens and pace of pace of play were better, then this course would be a must-play. … More Review: Joseph M. Bartholomew Sr. Municipal Golf Course
Quite frankly, Grand Ridge is not worth the drive from New Orleans. While affordable, this course was in terrible shape when I played, and overall not a fun experience. There are plenty of other courses in the area with similar prices and better conditions. … More Review: Grand Ridge Golf Club
English Turn and Country Club is among the finest golfing options in New Orleans and is certainly worth a visit if you’re in the Crescent City. There’s a real “private course” feel here with strong practice facilities, a great clubhouse, and fantastic conditioning. The course itself is stereotypical Nicklaus with numerous bunkers and lots of water providing quite the challenge. … More Review: English Turn Golf and Country Club
