Dormie Club is another strong effort from Coore and Crenshaw and is a course every visitor to Pinehurst should explore as long as it’s still open to the public. Tobacco Road Golf Club is as unique a course as you’ll ever play thanks to a dizzying array of risk-reward blind holes sculpted in the sandhills of North Carolina. While a controversial design, I absolutely loved the course and think it’s completely fair if you purchase a yardage book or do your research beforehand. Streamsong Red gets my vote for the best course at the phenomenal Streamsong Resort. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw’s genius shines throughout with some of the best hole variety and creativity I’ve ever experienced. This is a must-play for any golfer and one of the best public courses in the world, period. The Blue Course is my second favorite course at Streamsong, but would be the best course at the vast majority of golf resorts. This minimalist Tom Doak design is exceedingly fair and displays incredible hole variety, seamlessly intermixing both long and short holes.
